Professional drone racing pilot and content creator Johnny Schaer aka ‘JohnnyFPV’ partnered with Beautiful Destinations and Tom Jauncey for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. His latest project is not only a piece of cinematic art but is also an example of his unmatched technical ability to fly drones. After collaborating with other social media influencers, Johnny was asked by one of Instagram’s largest accounts, Beautiful Destinations, and its founder Tom Jauncey to collaborate on a project. Combined, the three social media accounts reach over 12.9 million people. Johnny and the Beautiful Destinations team traveled to Cappadocia, Turkey to film. Cappadocia is often filmed by influencers and camera drone pilots but rarely by FPV drones. The film features the region’s most recognizable visuals: hot air balloons, the ‘fairy tale’ rock formations, wild horses, and stone-built towns. While on the trip they experienced high temps, snow, and rain, giving the film the impression it was filmed over months, not just a few days. Johnny says the trip was his “craziest FPV experience” to date.
